Recruitment can be
termed as the process of attracting, screening, interviewing and selecting a
suitable candidate for a job position. Recruitment has always been one of the
most significant department of an organization as this division is responsible
for bringing the most important asset of a firm that is its human resource. Recruitment
solutions are offered through four different verticals. The first is the employment
agencies while the second vertical involves recruitment through the means of
websites and job search engines. The third vertical is constituted by the
process of headhunting and the fourth is made up by the specialized niche
agencies that are expert in staffing of a particular industrial area.
The employment agencies offer all kinds of recruitment
solutions including the entire
recruitment cycle and may perform other support functions. These HR functions
may include payroll administration, training candidates for the interviews and the
techniques to be used when applying for a job. Such
firms cater to the requirement of all kinds of positions beginning with
fresher, mid level and even top management positions. The second option of
recruitment is through the means of job websites and search engines. The
websites advertise the job opening on the Internet to make the applicants aware
of the opening and to invite the suitable candidates to apply for the position.
The characteristic of this means is cost effective yet time consuming.
The third vertical is
constituted by the headhunting process where the recruiting agents make
strong network to identify and contact suitable candidates. In this process,
the agents strengthen personnel relations by visiting trade
shows and other meetings that are expected to be attended by potential
candidates. The last vertical is constituted by niche agencies that offer
specialized and exclusive recruitment services to a particular field or
industry. Firms that require recruitment services can hire such services from
organizations that offer such services at nominal prices.
